Watermelon Frosé Summer Cocktail Perfect for July 4th
We’re hosting friends this July 4th and I wanted a festive cocktail that was easy and delicious. Hello watermelon frosé!!
I’m not much of a wine drinker (I prefer beer), but this cocktail is really refreshing. We were getting ready to leave town the day I made this test batch, and I slurped up 1.5 cups before realizing I’d better stop or else Jeremy might kill me for making him stop for frequent pee breaks. Ha!
Watermelon Frosé
Ingredients
• 1 standard 750mL bottle of rosé wine
• 1/3 of a large seedless watermelon
• 1/4 cup agave syrup
• 2 cups of water
• Bamboo skewers, blueberries, and chunks of watermelon for garnish
Directions
The night before, pour the bottle of rosé into 2-3 ice cube trays and freeze. Next, cube 1/2 of a large seedless watermelon and freeze.
Right before you’re ready to serve (it melts quickly!), place the rosé ice cubes, frozen watermelon, agave syrup, and water in a blender. For more of a slushy consistency, add more ice. If too icy and won’t blend, add more water or rosé from another bottle.
Scoop the frosé into a glass and garnish with blueberries and watermelon styled on a bamboo skewer.
Cheers!
