3 Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall

3 Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall

This summer was one to remember, and it feels like it passed so quickly! If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen where I’m currently not working and spending my days fully with Rowan. In short, the company I was working for acquired another company and a lot of folks were laid off back in late May. I’m not going to lie, it hurt my pride a little, but it’s been a positive thing for me and our family. I’m learning as a new mama how hard it is seeing your kids grow up, but I’m not sad about it because I’m living out the opportunity to spend as much time as possible with Rowan. It’s been really nice (minus some tough days, because we have a toddler blooming - ha!).

Some things that excite me about the new season are family traditions like festivals and pumpkin patches, carving pumpkins, and sharing what we’re thankful for on Thanksgiving. All the things that come with fall! Today I’m sharing our fall decor and how I was able to easily transition our home with things I had on hand.

Easy Fall Decor

  1. Bring in pumpkins

Find faux pumpkins at places like HomeGoods or Michael’s that speak to your style and make them your staple pieces. Mine are mercury glass and white ceramic pumpkins that I decorate with every year. Then, when nurseries put out real pumpkins (about mid-September to early October), style them with your faux pumpkins for more color and texture. My favorite kinds are small Baby Boo Pumpkins, Jarrahdale Pumpkins, Fairytale Pumpkins, and White Flat Boer Pumpkins (great for stacking). And the crazier and longer the stem, the better!

  2. Create texture with natural elements

Go for a stroll outside and look for magnolia branches, leaves, acorns, and pine cones. Something I like to do is spray paint these items metallic silver for a chic look. Other natural elements you can incorporate are rattan and woven pieces like trays or baskets.

  3. Cozy things up

Bring out blankets from storage and toss them across seating areas to create cozy spots throughout your home. Sit out more candles than usual and place matchsticks nearby. Something else I like to do is change out wall plug-ins throughout our home so that it smells like fall.
