The Many Uses for Baskets in Your Home
Last weekend, I began "project pantry organization" and I love how it's coming together, especially with baskets. All of the clutter has been eliminated and I've created more space so that our (rather small) pantry is more functional. Why didn't I think of this sooner?
I always browse the baskets when shopping at HomeGoods, because I'm convinced you can't have enough! They're useful for all sort of things, especially storage solutions and organization. Here are some of the ways I've incorporated baskets into our home and ideas on ways you can incorporate them into your home, too.
Pantry organization. Baskets in a pantry eliminate clutter and keep everything organized. Toss the extra packaging and compile things together.
Basket turned house plant holder. Hide the base of your house plants with a round woven basket.
Store blankets and pillows. Suddenly, throw pillows have a home when not in use (instead of on the floor) and extra blankets are easy to access when your family needs them.
Towel storage. I keep a basket filled with clean towels next to our shower. It's no fun to step out of a hot shower and have to tip toe your way over to the cabinet to grab a towel to dry off with.
Laundry hamper. Store dirty clothes in a basket with a lid or store clean clothes waiting to be folded.
Shelf storage. Do you have built-ins with no real place to store stuff—stuff you wouldn't display on a shelf, but stuff you need to hang onto and don't have a place to store? Hello baskets!
Under the cabinet organization. Use baskets for that awkward under-the-sink space in your kitchen and bathroom. Organize your cleaning products as well as your beauty products and styling tools.
Toy box (kids or pets). Make clean up easy with a large basket to toss loose toys into so that even the smallest piece have a home.
Underbed storage. I keep an underbed storage basket underneath our guest bed and it's where I keep all of our gift wrap, gift bags, ribbon, etc.
