Sharing BIG News
This is out of the ordinary from what you're used to seeing from me, but it's the most exciting news in our lives and we're finally letting everyone in on our secret...
We've been eagerly awaiting this moment and our hearts are so full. We couldn't be any more excited to be parents and grow our family!
Jeremy and I will be celebrating our two year wedding anniversary on October 2nd and from what I can remember, Jeremy has wanted children since, well, the very beginning. He loves kids and they love him! My husband also loves gadgets, so one thing is for certain... this babe will have all the newest/latest/greatest (within reason, of course). Meanwhile, I'm already planning on how to save by scooping up as much as we can on Black Friday!
We're 15 weeks and we don't know the gender. Although, my best friend does! Did you know there is a blood test that detects the gender early? For us, it was 9 weeks. I think this is so crazy! We are patiently waiting to find out the gender with family and friends at a gender reveal celebration on October 14th. That's in three weeks and YES, we're counting! The old wives' tales are pointing in both directions and I haven't had any real instincts to tell me, so we'll be just as surprised as anyone!
We've been apprehensive to share this news any sooner, because something I've kept held close is that we suffered a miscarriage earlier this year. I'd never felt so much disappointment and my heart ached. I scoured the Internet for answers and looked for stories I could relate to. What I quickly realized was just how common miscarriage is (1 in 4 pregnancies) and I wonder if I would've been more prepared if more women talked about it to help increase awareness. After all, reading about others' experience with pregnancy loss is some of what helped me heal.
And then there's hope. We took off on a spontaneous summer vacation to St. Thomas and it was shortly after arriving home that I found out we were pregnant again. God hears all prayers and we are blessed.
Our greatest adventure as mom and dad begins in March and I'm thrilled to be sharing it with all of you!
