Kitchen Refresh for Spring + How To Save

Kitchen Refresh for Spring + How To Save

Thank goodness the cold weather is behind us and warmer temps are here! Springtime tends to make me want to purge and refresh, and today I’m sharing my tips on how to clear clutter and bring in new pieces for an updated look.

Tips for Spring Cleaning in the Kitchen

  • Start with one area and work towards the opposite end until you’ve tackled the entire kitchen.

  • Pull everything out and put it in one central pile.

  • Separate in to four smaller piles: Trash, give away, store & put-away

  • Group similar items and organize as you put it back.

  • Store small appliances in cabinets, on shelves in the pantry, or in the garage.

  • Reserve counter space for things you use daily, i.e. Keurig, cooking utensils, stovetop essentials like oil, salt, and pepper, knife block, fruit bowl, hand soap, candle, etc.

Once you’ve organized your kitchen, you’ll inevitably want to go shopping for a few new things, so I’m including my kitchen favorites plus a few additional picks I think you’ll love!

As a small fish in a big (and competitive) pond of content creators / bloggers, I was thrilled when I received an email recently from one of my favorite online retailers… Joss & Main!! It’s an opportunity to be featured on their site, and I’m excited to be aligned with a brand I personally shop and love! If you’ve shopped Joss & Main then you understand how you can scroll for days, so I’ve created a design board for the perfect kitchen refresh. Check it out!

Investments Worth Considering

  • Pendant Lighting: This is my top recommendation for a whole new look! Be sure to measure first to know whether to shop for mini pendants (8”-10”) or medium pendants (10”-20”).

  • Stools: The right stools can pack a punch in kitchen design and guests are sure to notice!

  • Kitchen Faucet: Replacing your kitchen faucet is a relatively easy change that will instantly update your kitchen.

  • Prep Space: If you don’t have an island but have the space for one, consider adding a kitchen cart.

Inexpensive Updates

  • Cutting Board: Cutting boards are both practical and decorative. Keep it on the counter when not in use and style it with a vase, tea towel, and candle.

  • Fruit Bowl: Put your fruit in a pretty bowl and it’ll add to your kitchen decor.

  • Vase: It’s the details like fresh flowers styled in a vase that polish off any space.

  • Kitchen Runner: Give your kitchen personality with the perfect accent rug.

  • Trash Can: If your trash can is out in the open, this pick is for you!

  • Crock + Cooking Utensils: Corral cooking utensils in a crock so they’re pretty sitting on top of your counter.

  • Lazy Susan: A lazy Susan is great for storing what you use most and it helps with organization since it serves as a designated place to keep things.

  • Oil Bottle + Salt Cellar + S&P Set: Buy pretty containers for your essentials so they look nice sitting out.
