Easy Cheese Board Perfect for Entertaining

Easy Cheese Board Perfect for Entertaining

I needed something to take with me to my granny’s house on Christmas Eve, so I turned to the biggest foodie I know and my good friend Amber @fieldtofamilyliving. She suggested a cheese board because she said it’s always a crowd favorite. It was easy to create and I loved the display, making it my new go-to, especially for entertaining!

How to Create a Cheese Board

Ingredients

  • Brie

  • Manchego

  • Goat Cheese

  • Cranberry Wensleydale

  • Carr’s Crackers, variety (water crackers + wheat crackers)

  • Red grapes

  • Purple grapes

  • Strawberries

  • Pepper jelly

  • Apricot preserves

  • Apples

  • Pears

  • Marcona almonds

  • Candied pecans

  • Uncured salami

Tips for Creating a Cheese Board

  • A rule of thumb is 1 oz of each cheese per person.

  • Choose a cow milk cheese (Brie and Cranberry Wensleydale), a sheep milk cheese (Manchego), and a goat milk cheese.

  • Place big items first, i.e. cheeses and grapes. Then, fill in the holes.

  • There’s no particular way to style a cheese board, because everyone will graze on it and pick what they want. Although, here are a few things Amber suggested that I thought you’d all find helpful to know.

  • Pair pepper jelly (sweet and spicy) with goat cheese (creamy), apples, and wheat crackers.

  • Pair hard cheeses (Manchego) with water crackers, Marcona almonds, and salami.

  • Pair apricot preserves (tart) with Brie and Cranberry Wensleydale (rich and creamy), candid pecans (sweet and crunchy), and wheat crackers.

  • Cheese is best served at room temperature, so be sure to set out your cheese board ahead of time if you make it beforehand.

There’s always an occasion for a pretty cheese board, and I hope you enjoyed this as much as me.

Happy Holidays!
