How to Style a Bar Cart
Bar carts are all the craze and with their versatility, they’re functional in any home. First, let me spout out a couple of ideas that may convince you to own one if you don’t already. They’re great for liquor storage, of course, but think bedside side table, storage in your kitchen for dishes or perhaps a coffee bar, or a craft cart for kids, serving as a place to store all of their supplies. See… I told you! And thanks to their mobility, they can easily be tucked away in nooks when not in use. Bingo!
We use our bar cart for liquor storage, so this is what I’ll be sharing more on. Shall we?
Curate your bottles
Display a few of your best bottles and store the rest in your pantry or cabinet. It’s best to create a collection with a variety of selections. Ideas are vodka, whiskey, tequila, gin, and rum.
Show off your glassware
Whether it be copper mugs, whisky glasses, or stemware, display a set of 4 of 6 (depending). This way, too, guests can serve themselves.
Decanters are also pretty to add and if you’re not a wine drinker (that would be me), use it as a bud vase.
Barware essentials
Gather the tools you’ll need for what you’ll be serving. Ideas are a jigger, shaker, strainer, muddler, bottle opener, corkscrew, and ice bucket and tongs. Tip! HomeGoods is a great place to gather most everything you’ll need and so is World Market.
F is for fruit—and flowers!
Depending on what you’ll be serving, stock your bar cart with fruit organized inside of a pretty bowl. You can’t go wrong with lemons and limes which is what I usually keep handy.
Flowers are just for fun and always a good idea!
