Sophisticated Blush and White Baby Girl Nursery

Sophisticated Blush and White Baby Girl Nursery

Rowan is here and six weeks already.  Bam!  Just like that, time is passing us by.  It sure is funny how the concept of time changes with life events.  We were just eagerly anticipating her debut and now I wish time would slow down.

When designing her room I knew I wanted it to be feminine and sophisticated and not too cutesy or cliché.  I wanted a space she could grow up with.  Her nursery is chic with soft touches of blush and combines my love of victorian and mid-century.  This room brings me so much joy and I'm excited to finally be sharing it with you all!

When putting together my design board, I started with this chandelier I'd been eyeing for a long time.  When I first came across it (before I was pregnant), I thought about how perfect it'd be for a baby girl's nursery.

You may have seen my design board post and I think I carried out my vision for the most part, wouldn't you say?!  The look and feel is the same, but some pieces changed as I determined what to splurge on and where to save.

While I love bone inlay and thought I had my heart set on this dresser, I couldn't bring myself to spend $1,300+ and instead went with a dresser that was half the price.  (Pat on the back!)

The mirror, oh the mirror!  It's just as much a statement piece as the chandelier.  It was one of the last things I purchased and I'm glad I did.  Its victorian style complements the space and I just couldn't pass it up.

The crib and rug were also things I had my eye on long before we were pregnant.  I've always loved the look of iron cribs and the rug looked so soft and plush—perfect for a nursery.  Fair warning it's made of wool and wool sheds; however, wool fibers are the most durable and can be cleaned.

I kept going back and fourth on the crib, because I felt like it was too expensive for something so temporary. Yet the reviews were good, and the quality seemed to be a step up from the original iron crib I had picked out.  I had a coupon which helped me justify the purchase (around $465), so it finally made its way into my shopping cart, and all in all I'm happy with it.  Plus, it can convert into a toddler bed or daybed with conversion kits (sold separately).

The glider and matching ottoman are from Toys "R" Us (before they went out of business), although I sourced what appears to be the exact one HERE.

Nursery Decor

I incorporated the acrylic curtain rod and antique brass features for mid-century vibes which I love so much.  I already had the velvet curtains which worked great for contrast against the white walls.

Details like the styled shelves, wall picture frame, and hoop wreaths were the finishing touches.  I gathered inspiration for the hoop wreaths from this featured nursery I discovered on Pinterest.

Nursery Shelf Decor

Kids come with A LOT of things and storage solutions have never been more pertinent than when you're a mama, am I right?!  After buying and returning multiple bins purchased from HomeGoods, I finally came across these rope bins on Amazon and they hide all of her things perfectly.  You can't tell from the photo, but I have two more styled on the very top shelf.

Side note, I've had this hamper since my college days and its kind of fun that it's stuck with me this long and is now being used in our daughter's nursery.
