How to Keep Pumpkins From Rotting
It’s officially fall and I’m welcoming the season with open arms! We’ve already been to two pumpkin patches and decorated our front porch with pumpkins. With a toddler and newborn, time is passing me by and I’m not sure what day it is most of the time (the lack of sleep doesn’t help!). But the temps are cooling off and it feels like a new season, which I think we can all be excited about given the year it’s been so far. Now let me let you in on the secret!
How to Keep Pumpkins From Rotting
It’s so easy you guys! All you have to do to keep pumpkins from rotting is wash them thoroughly with soap and water. That’s it! Rot happens where there’s dirt buildup and cleaning the pumpkins does the trick.
Some people even use bleach water or spray paint the bottoms to help. Although washing with soapy water is what I’ve done the past couple of years and it preserves our pumpkins all season.
